Raleigh

Greetings Ya'll...

Raleigh

NC Museum of Art

on Sunday, 04 March 2012.

NCMA sports a dramatic new building and surrounding landscape with a collection truly worth seeing.

 NC Museum of Art
After a three year expansion, the museum reopens on April 24, 2010. The new "ultra-modern" wing and dramatic landscaping additions truly enhance the recent art acquisitions.

The Cupcake Shoppe

on Saturday, 15 May 2010.

Buttercream should be listed as one of the deadly sins.

The Cupcake Shoppe
Sara Coleman, owns a nondescript bakery just off of Glenwood Avenue. With the exception of the art store right next door, it was a part of the road we visit rarely. After hearing a few good things we decided to make a stop and I have to say, I'm glad we did.

Pie Bird

on Wednesday, 01 June 2011.

A frustratingly good idea sets root in Raleigh's historic Oakwood district.

Pie Bird
I paid my first visit to Pie Bird almost 2 months after their opening. Although they reside within a football throw of my doorstep, time simply hadn't allowed a visit. When the folks stopped into town last week I realized it was a perfect chance to check the place out, I was certainly not disappointed.

The AIANC Center

on Sunday, 04 March 2012.

Under construction across from Peace College is the new home of the AIA.

The AIANC Center
The North Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects is the recognized advocate for the architectural profession in this state. With a membership of 2,200, AIA North Carolina includes nearly 80 percent of the state's resident architects. Membership has increased dramatically, from 215 in 1955 and 695 in 1975.

SPCA of Wake County

on Sunday, 04 March 2012.

Founded in Raleigh in 1967, Wake County SPCA is dedicated to creating a community where every animal has a home.

SPCA of Wake County
Each year the SPCA rehomes over 3,000 animals through its innovative adoption programs and lost and found efforts!

The V Foundation

on Sunday, 04 April 2010.

Jim Valvano remains one of NCSU's largest legends. His legacy has proven to be just as incredible as how he lived his life.

The V Foundation
It has been just 18 years since The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded by ESPN and Jim Valvano. And what significant work has been accomplished during that time! Since 1993, The V Foundation has raised more than $100 million and awarded cancer research grants in 38 states and the District of Columbia. Researchers have developed their laboratories and taken their science from the labs to the clinics with the help of funds raised by The V Foundation.
